Hunting for Away points Lobi Stars vs Enyimba Match Preview.

We are away at Katsina-Ala tomorrow for a date with Lobi Stars.

There are no easy away grounds in the Glo Premier League and one of these days I will publish why teams find it very difficult to win on away turf in the League (and no it’s not about officiating). But we head there buoyed with confidence after a quartet of goals against Bayelsa United. I promised not to mention Bayelsa United in this post but (sorry Coach Adams) I couldn’t resist the urge.

Anyway back to business. It is soothing to learn of the improvements on the injury front. Bashri is back and he did put in a good shift on Sunday, I have a few concerns about Femi Thomas. He looks susceptible to errors and he has Emma and Chinedu (who I think is suspended for this trip) to thank for helping him out on Sunday. He is the best goalkeeper we have but he needs to keep his concentration level high throughout the game. In Europe they say a good goalkeeper gets you 10 points per season, that translates to 5 points in Nigeria, doesn’t it? 🙂

This is a game I look at and I believe we can get a point from at least because as things as shaping up in the title race, we must get a couple of points away and keep our home form formidable. The coach himself touched it after the game.

“The League is still very open and we cannot afford slips. There are about 10 games to go and if you win all 10, you will surely win the league. We are in the race and we are ready to fight till the end”.

It’s nice to hear him talk about winning all the remaining games. That will surely be an achievement won’t it? And while we applaud him for helping us win the 2004 CAF Champions League but that’s a long long time now and it’s about time he achieved some remarkable personal feat. He last won a major trophy in 2008 with Kano Pillars and his stint in the Female National Team was very poor- they finished 4th in Africa, the lowest they have ever finished. It is about time he achieved something resounding. Is winning the last 10 games possible? Definitely. Are we going to do that? I doubt that, I think we should take it one game at a time. Let us start by winning tomorrow’s game against Lobi and our next game against Heartland in Aba then we can look at this issue again.

My Preferred XI Godwin, Ojobo, John, Anyanwu, Uwadiegwu, Razak, Rasheed, Amanfor, Abalogu, Boumsong, Mfon.

Let’s do this guys
