Wetin dey shelle for una end? Please forgive my staying away from writing for a while. I have been out of town and I have not had a chance to watch the boys. I have a couple of interviews to finish up this morning so just a quick one for you.
We head to Gombe Sunday hoping to pick something from the North. The League has gotten to what I can refer to as boiling point and any point means so much now. From that 0-0 draw with Crown FC couple of games ago, we came back with a valuable point and if you look at the table, you can see that only Pillars have a marginally better breathing space than any other team on the table. Look at our opponents for instance, Gombe United are 17th but between 16th placed FC Taraba and Crown in 19th, just 2 points separate the four clubs within that range.
Warri Wolves are second placed with just a point ahead of us and should we pick that up, we can hope that they will drop points at Bayelsa United. Well, I saw Bayelsa United play Rangers in midweek and I think they were unlucky to lose away at Enugu. So we can pray they turn up (why shouldn’t they? They are 15th on the log) and do us the Favour.
Anyway, we survived a scare against Sharks in midweek. Down 2-0 in Aba after 11 minutes??? I’m not sure what went wrong but the boys showed exceptional character for coming back to win 5-2. Nzube got his customary goal at home and Ayaya who has been very potent in attack for us this season got 2. Mfon too got 2 and is now on 14 goals. Same with the top marksmen Osagona, Salami and Ebimobowei. It would be great if he gets a couple more before the end of the season.
Focus is the word and give it your best from the go. Gombe can be beaten and I believe their league position shows that. So let’s do what Enyimba can do. Get the needed points.
