Well finally, the D Day is upon us.
After a very very long night of all kinds of dreams, it’s now down to just a few hours.
Our opponents got into town late last night. Why? I don’t know but they are even looking less prepared than Dolphins who by the way lost yesterday. (Sorry Dolphins fans).
The other two Nigerian contingent Kano Pillars and Wolves both won away from home meaning that we don’t have any excuse whatsoever not to win ours. Come to think of it, if we can’t beat them in a jam-packed Enyimba stadium with 10,000 fans screaming and singing their hearts out, then guys the chances of a miracle in two weeks time is as minimal as it gets.
I always ask that we start games better and get an early goal. This is a game we should be trashing them very well so we shouldn’t even be thinking of resting our laurels even after we score. Like in the preview here we should make the return leg a mere formality.
Our Nigerian football is far away from perfect in terms of how the clubs are run by administrators but we have to keep believing and keep doing our own part by supporting our teams. So I’ll ask you, if you are in town or you live closeby, Port Harcourt, Uyo, Owerri, Umuahia etc. please come around if you can. Let’s lend our voices and presence and let’s help our team move into the next round.
The gaffer has some selection dilemma ahead of this. Do we play our usual 4-4-2 or do we go 4-3-3. He likes playing two strikers at home in fact it’s more like a 4-2-4 with Abalogu and Mfon on the flanks. But today there won’t be any Mfon Udoh. However I think he should find a way to accommodate both Sokari and Anaezemba in the middle. He will also want a hatchet man in front of the defence and it looks like it will be Razak doing that (with Olabiyi not fit and Uluocha carrying a knock he got in training). I believe Peter Onyekachi should start and with one of either Chinonso Okonkwo or Abdulrahman Bashir.
Honestly, above shows that I’m am completely clueless as to how we could set up based on the fact that we have so many good guys available and I currently don’t live inside Kadiri Ikhana’s head so if I get my line up wrong below, kindly forgive and forget.
My preferred XI: Ejiogu, Ojobo, Udoji, Anyanwu, Uwaediegwu, Razak, Sokari, Anaezemba, Abalogu, Onyekachi, Okonkwo.
Whatever team we send out there should be able to get the job done.
The game is not on TV, CAF Champions League games will be on TV from the next round so if you want to watch our games on TV, please pray that we win this evening and go past this round. (So for those of you wey never go church since New Year Eve’s service, Abeg go today and please pray for our darling team).
There will however be updates on facebook and Twitter. So for minute by minute update, follow @LMCNPFL for those updates. If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can keep tabs on their Facebook account. Their page is League Management Company. Just search on facebook, you will find the page.
