Ode to the new lady in our camp.

Good morning Guys,

So we are in the very cold Jos sharpening our arsenal for a clash with Zachary Baraje and Plateau United. It’s the first time we are in Jos this season, no thanks to Giwa who effortlessly got his team out of the Championship.

The preview for that game (which incidentally comes up tomorrow) shouldn’t be subject for today’s post because our focus today is on our very really cute Umbro Jerseys.

Having so lent my voice often on this blog on the slackness of the club to conclude these kit deals, and no excuses to whatever contributed in making it linger, this one was surely worth the wait.

Growing up, there was this popular notion that it’s not about how beautiful a jersey appears, it’s what those wearing it actually deliver. Yes, but when you look at the other teams in the Championship and (no insults to the local Jersey manufacturing companies) our kit is head and shoulders above them all.

We first saw the jersey against the Zamalek in our first CAF Champions League Group game, then away at the Sundowns defeat. But on TV in the League, during the Heartland game, we saw the white away kit that the Dan Anyiam soggy pitch did it’s best to take the shine off.

Then at the weekend, we wore the Blue against Kano Pillars. I haven’t played for Enyimba before but I can imagine how good these players feel donning these really cute jerseys. There also is the black coloured warm up kits.

We have not been given details at this time, what the details and conditions of this kit deal is. But most importantly for the fans is, would there be replicas? Can the fans also get their hands on this very beautiful Jersey. I’ll buy for me, my beloved wife and two kids 🙂

I hope it’s a long term deal, we learnt there’s an unveiling that should have happened in London. Whether or not that happened, it’s not as important as reaping the full benefits of this deal. This is one way to maintain the status of this club as the top football club in the Country.

Anyway that’s my little contribution to our lovely new kits. I believe that in the days ahead, we would get more details. Did I equally mention that of the goalkeepers?

Blog done and dusted for today. Back tomorrow with a match preview for you.
