Good morning Guys, Our match day is finally here. We go head to head with a resurgent Akwa United side lead by the very intelligent Abdu Makaiba. Before we go on, you’re going to forgive me for putting up what would be a very short blog.
It’s some kind of Derby, isn’t it? Akwa United is well within our neighborhood and with this game being played in Calabar, one hour from Uyo, you can be rest assured there will be good numbers at the game. The locals in the Calabar area themselves won’t be left out. This should be a big one.
This game should have happened yesterday. But for our late return from Maiduguri and with the number of the new faces who played in that El-Kanemi Warriors game, I think we should have our regulars back in this one. I believe there would be wholesale changes with the likes of Dare Ojo and Mfon Udoh back in the lineup. This game could come too soon for Fatau Dauda who should be back in the side now.
Makaiba and his wards would see their two match unbeaten run (Katsina United and Remo Stars) as the adrenaline shot to keep up momentum and this game being played at their backyard, they would see it as a game they would get something from. It’s our duty to ensure they don’t.
With Abia Warriors dropping points at home yet again, it’s our duty to leapfrog them to a better position on the table. Thus the gaffer must get his choice of personnel right and intact. You’d think the Anaemena plus Ogbonnaya partnership would be called up in this game, that’s barring any injury we are unaware of.
We would expect updates from the regular channels- more reliably, the LMC. It is the only game this evening hence we should be able to see a substantial amount of action tweets. In all though, we are more concerned with the the three points and that’s the idea. Even if we do an El-Kanemi, if you understand what I mean.
That’s all I can put together guys. Bear with me today.
